· 1974 - First Ronald McDonald House is established in Philadelphia, PA with the help of the Eagles football team, Dr. Audrey Evans, and McDonald’s Owner-Operators.
· 1981 - Dr. Reed Bell, Jerry Maygarden, and volunteers formed Gulf Coast Children's Medical Foundation to build the Ronald McDonald House in Pensacola, FL.
· 1984 - Ronald McDonald House of Pensacola opened its doors on October 13, 1984. The House offered 6 private bedrooms, which served 271 families during the first year.
· 2003 - The House underwent remodeling to offer more accommodations to families.
· 2007 - Ronald McDonald House converted its resident manager’s apartment into additional rooms to serve the growing needs of families and children. This conversion resulted in a total of 9 private bedrooms for families.
· 2010 - After a successful $5-million capital campaign, the new, 26-bedroom Ronald McDonald House opened on August 23, 2010, allowing us to serve 487 more families in its first year alone.
